Here at Adairs, we love and appreciate the safety of a home. Currently there are 116,000 people in Australia and 41,000 people in New Zealand experiencing homelessness. That’s why we’ve partnered with Orange Sky, who are helping to positively connect people experiencing homelessness through free laundry, showers and genuine conversation.
Orange Sky is the world’s first free mobile laundry service for people experiencing homelessness – an idea founded in a Brisbane garage by two 20-year-old mates, Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett.
The major impact of Orange Sky does not rely on washers spinning or dryers tumbling however. It happens through the hours of conversation that take place on their six orange chairs, which are pulled out at every one of their shift locations. Each week, all over Australia and New Zealand, thousands of volunteers put other parts of their life aside for a few hours to positively connect with our friends on the street through genuine and non-judgemental conversation.
You can help us support our New Zealand friends in need by purchasing an Adairs reusable bag, all designed in-house to suit your style.
Small Bag - $2 & Medium Bag - $3.
100% of profits from the reusable bags are donated back to Orange Sky. You can also help us by making a donation today at any of our stores, no matter how big or small.
