Caring for your Mercer + Reid Lincoln Towels:
This is a durable towel that if cared for correctly, will last for years to come. We recommend that you use a moderate amount of mild detergent when washing.
Ideally, avoid using any detergent that contains optical brighteners or bleaches. Whilst they mat brighten whites, they change the tone of your coloured towels making them look flat.
A warm machine wash is recommended as it will help break up any body oils that might be absorbed during use. It also opens up the fibres making them all the more absorbent. Avoid fabric softeners as they coat the yarn and make the towel less absorbent.
Contact with skin treatment products, deodorants and many other household products containing bleaches, should also be avoided as they can bleach your towels. If you have a pulled thread, snip it off with sharp scissors, do not pull it.
Tumble Dry?
Yes you can tumble dry, but it's important not to over dry the towels. On a lower setting is always better. The fibre will continue to release moisture the longer it is in the dryer and will eventually make towels harsh and crunchy. Tumble drying generally improves the absorbency of the pile, just remember not for too long.
