Adhesive may not be compatible with all surfaces and paint types. Due to the wide variety of surfaces, their conditions and the users technique, Adairs cannot be held responsible for any difficulties experienced when removing the designs or any damage left to the surfaces. The walls that are hardest to deal with are those that suffered a bad paint job to begin with. One that has multiple layers of paint where each layer has not been prepared, or one with air bubbles underneath it. Remember to always test the surface before applying wall stickers.

Application

  •          Apply to smooth and clean interior surfaces only
  •          Do not use on old, flaking paint
  •          Allow freshly painted surfaces to cure for at least 4 weeks before application

Removal

  •          Ease of removal depends on many factors including the type of paint, condition of the wall and length of time the sticker has been applied. Here are some tips:
  •          Pull or roll the sticker back against itself like it is being folded back, slowly and carefully. Do not pull the vinyl out from the wall at 90 degrees as this will put more pressure on the paint.
  •          A hairdryer on a warm setting can help, direct the heat towards the edge of the sticker. Once the adhesive is warm to the touch, gently lift the sticker starting at the edge. As you pull the sticker away from the wall, begin heating the next section. Repeat the process until removal is complete.
  •          Try using vinegar or eucalyptus oil. Sponge around the edges and surface of the wall sticker and let sit for 5 minutes the corners of the sticker should remove easier.
  •          If there is any adhesive residue, this is not common on walls, first try soapy water, then try sugar soap,  if neither of these work then move to adhesive remover, WD-40, eucalyptus oil or nail polish remover if necessary. Always test these products on a small area first and use sparingly.
